How Online Ring Design Works
If you fancy a new ring, but don’t see anything in the shops that catches your eye you might want to think about designing your very own cubic zirconia and having it made to your specifications.
To design your zirconia ring by going to a jewelry shop and having them make everything from scratch is very expensive, even if you don’t use pricy diamonds or real tanzanite. But when you use the “build a ring” tools with the online companies that offer these customization devices, you can actually design your zirconia ring for as little as it costs to buy a ready made one. Why? How is a custom ring as affordable as a cheap ready to version? Well, it’s quite simple. They have a selection of ready made mountings.
Mountings are the basic ring with prongs ready to have stones added. The styles of mountings may allow you select a stone that is an emerald cut shape or a round or a princess cut, and it may be filigree or a simple solitaire style. You can always choose the metal, be it inexpensive sterling silver, white gold, yellow gold and sometimes you have the option to choose platinum, although if you’re going with faux stones, you probably will stick with silver. Then you choose the gems to want.
Let’s say you select a central stone that’s tanzanite and cubic zirconia as the accents. Now you decide the shape and cut of the stones that will fit in the mounting you have chosen. Select the price range of the stone, the carat and the quality. Then add your accent stones, if any, and view the price. If it’s too expensive, you can select a different quality gem, perhaps a smaller stone, or fewer accents. Put it together again and click and see the price go down or up depending on your selections. When you have a piece with the mounting you like, the stones you can afford and it’s all ready, you can view the ring and submit your order.
